The Adventures of Superboy | Travels with Jason

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…  *another recycled animation frame!*

Join Jason Roy Gaston and VHS_Jase as they dive headfirst into the cape-clad, budget-strapped world of *The Adventures of Superboy* — Filmation’s answer to the question, “What if Superman, but with less plot and way more running in place?”

This bite-sized cartoon classic (and we’re using “classic” loosely here) clocked in at a whopping *six minutes per episode*, just long enough to tell a story, repeat the same flying sequence three times, and teach us that animation was absolutely optional in the ‘60s.

From the overly reused action shots to Superboy’s uncanny ability to save the day with as little movement as possible, it’s a superpowered stroll through Saturday morning shortcuts. And Krypto’s here too — because nothing says “we’re out of ideas” like giving the dog a cape and hoping for the best.

Is it good? No.
Is it entertaining? Also no.
Did we watch all of it anyway? You bet your red trunks we did.
