Harley Quinn sets “The High Bar” for Episode Two

Episode two of DC Universe’s most unexpectedly good show, Harley Quinn, finds Harley diving back into the seedy underworld that is supervillain social functions as she crashes the Penguin’s son’s bar mitzvah in an attempt to start a new life without Mr. J.

Mister J, however, is a possessive, passive aggressive fellow, and decides to attend the party as well to sabotage Harley’s attempt to enter the big leagues without him.

Just like last week, this show continues to be uproariously funny with fun and charming characters being bad guys. I enjoy Harley and Ivy’s chemistry, the Penguin, Bane, and Scarecrow are all riotously reimagined, and the joke guns are all on full blast, allowing no gag opportunity to fall through the cracks.

I’m not sure how else to describe the series so far other than the stories and jokes have been consistently entertaining, the characters all have wonderful chemistry, and the action is well animated.

More than anything, I would like to commend this show for allowing these characters to remain bad guys. None of them are going to serve justice or even leave it and I consider this one of those things that really sets Harley Quinn apart from everything else.

If you have not had a chance to watch this series, you are only depriving yourself.
