The Star Trek Experience: 2008

I had been to The Star Trek Experience once upon a time when I was younger, but when I heard that the attraction was scheduled to shut down for good, I made the pilgrimage to Las Vegas and pay my respects in the best way I could.

The Experience was just that… an experience for Trek fans and fellow nerdlings and, at the time of its closure, they offered backstage tours of the rides and, most importantly, the bridge of the Enterprise-D. There are no words to describe what it’s like to walk onto the bridge of the Enterprise and get told, “Okay, have a look around!”

This was an experience unlike any other and its now ten-year absence leaves a hole in the fandom world. It is well past time that that hole is filled.
