This was something I literally bumbled into by accident. Apparently, the parks around London are overrun by thousands of green parakeets that are so tame and so friendly, that if you bring an apple, some nuts, or other preferred parakeet foodstuffs with you, you will be covered with the little guys in seconds. Also, pigeons, squirrels, and ducks will be there as well.
There are a dozen rumors online about where the birds came from, one even involving Jimmy Hendricks, but no one knows for sure the origins of the green squawking wonders.
