If you ever find yourself in Colorado and have a day to kill, I highly recommend hopping yourself on the Cog Railroad and taking an unforgettable journey up Pike’s Peak.
On the way, you’ll find yourself in the midst of several different ecological systems and, if you’re lucky, you might even encounter snow in the middle of July. At the top of the peak is an unworldly place of fog and wind, but I have been told that there are days that the view is spectacular. In any case, it was a pleasure and a privilege to visit, view or no view. It just gives me an excuse to go back.
